American Apparel is Crazy

Jun 22nd, 2010

Wow.  This was too insane not to share.  Here is a snippet of an email sent out by American Apparel Management to all of their store managers regarding female grooming standards for the staff.  I would definitely not have made the cut as I blow dry my hair and have the audacity to wear foundation. I do, however, agree with the no-glitter blush.  That’s just tacky.  This is a fun read so please feel free to share your comments.

It’s dad’s weekend, ladies, so just give him what he wants.  Well, at least in the food department.  I have assembled a menu to help.  It’s pretty simple. Like dad.

Begin with serving him his favorite beer…

follow-up with the traditional spinach dip

serve up some dee-lish shrimp and plum kebabs

the main dish – a big, juicy steak, of course…

end the meal with handing him a carton of his favorite ice cream.  Happy dad.

This workout is part of Kelly Ripa’s regular exercise regimen.  If this is how she keeps that rockin’ bod in shape then I’m sold.  All you need is rudimentary knowledge of the alphabet and a medicine ball.  It’s a great way to work on your core and upper body strength. Here is how you do it:

Take a 5-20 lb medicine ball (depending on your strength level) and extend your arms out in front of your body. Proceed to slowly spell the entire alphabet with the ball in the air in front of you.  Have your kids grab one of their numerous balls that are surely scattered throughout the house and join in the fun.  They will get a workout too and maybe finally master that tricky alphabet.

*To make this exercise even more challenging, do the Alphabet Workout while in a lunge or squat position.  I personally opt not to.
